More about S A I L

Jonathan and Adra Ludwig are the founders of S A I L. This husband-and-wife team has an extensive background in the arts, including 25 years of teaching experience combined. Having seen the need for serious and excellence in Christian arts education, Jonathan and Adra seek to provide young people with quality hands-on training and personalized instruction.

What is the school’s age range?

S A I L is a one stop co-op for the whole family, with students ages ranging from 4 to 18+ years. With multiple course options to fulfill each family members artistic interests, S A I L provides courses for both boys and girls.

When does the school meet?

S A I L meets Tuesdays from 9:30am to 5:00pm.

Where does the school meet?

S A I L meets at Mountain View United Methodist Church in Knoxville Tennessee.

What does a S A I L school year look like?

S A I L will meet on Tuesdays from 9:30am to 5:00pm for two 16 week semesters a year, with the spring semester concluding with several performances of the main production.

Why S A I L has Performances?

Students will learn how all the courses come together to produce theatrical productions and multimedia events. In learning how it all connects, the students will be more equipped to be successful in their art and life. S A I L wants to be a place where students, as well as their teachers, can grow and flourish.

Teacher compensation?

Teachers will work as 1099 independent contractors being paid on a per student and material fee per course.

As a teacher can I bring my kids?

We understand some teachers may have children who can’t be left home. Teacher’s children are welcome to sit in their parent’s classroom and play quietly or do homework, etc. As long as they are not disruptive to the class, they are welcome.

What are teacher responsibilities for the Main Production?

Because the Main Production is vital to the co-ops attendance and the students learning experience all teachers are required to participate in putting on the S A I L Main Productions at the end of each Spring semester.
